Prior to Royal Ahold, Abbe worked 6.5 years with Unilever Corporation. Abbe started her career in Unilever in September, 2007 as Sr. Vice President HR Transformation & Strategy at Unilever’s Global Headquarters in London, UK and then moved to the Netherlands with Unilever in August, 2009, when she assumed the role of Sr. Vice President Human Resources, for their European operations, based out of Rotterdam.
Before Unilever, Abbe spent 16.5 years at one additional blue chip company, Whirlpool Corporation. While at Whirlpool, she held various roles with increasing leadership accountability. She started her career at Whirlpool as a blue collar associate on the factory floor and ended her time at Whirlpool as their VP HR Total Rewards & HR Solutions.
Abbe has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Human and Organizational Development – both from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Abbe is married to her husband, Paul and they have a ten year old daughter named Emma.
